They took the siding and all their tools, so I guess they're all done. The piers are still there, but they shouldn't be too difficult to pull up. We might have to pay to get rid of them though, since they are partly poured concrete. The change isn't as drastic as some of the other updates, but it does make a difference. I'm so happy about how much the yard has opened up. Sometimes I just look out through the patio door and smile. The yard isn't anywhere near complete, but we've already accomplished a lot in a short time.

I had an ambitious target date for finishing the yard completely, but I'm not going to hold us to it. This kind of project takes a lot of time, patience, and money, and I have to be willing to go with the flow. Plus, I don't want to make any hasty decisions only to later wish that we'd done things differently.

Tonight we're supposed to go shopping for our coop materials, and tomorrow we're going to start building. I ordered some environmentally friendly wood treatment from Portland, and it's scheduled to arrive Monday. I was thinking I should cancel the order so we could buy some at the store for the weekend, but DH doesn't think we'll get that far. I was hoping that we would get pretty far this weekend, but it's okay if we don't. The chicks don't need the coop for weeks, so we have plenty of time to get it done the right way.
